Aashiqui 2 is Melodious but not so Qualitative
Expectation : Aashiqui 2 is bhatt’s film and the sequel of 1990’s musical hit Aashiqui. After the superhit Murder 2, Bhatts, Mohit Suri and Mithoon ( Musician ) team up once again for this film. So, We expected a melodious album with at least a couple of very good songs.
What We Get :
The album starts with a bang called ” Tum Hi Ho ”. The song is so melodious yet fully able to make your music player blown. Its a instant hit. Arijit Singh makes huge impact by his super awesome voice. Mithoon’s Music and Lyrics both are equally fascinating, though ” Phir Mohabbat ” elegance is missing. The song is already a big hit and considered as the main attraction of the album.
Later comes another pleasant track called ” Sunn Raha Hai ”. The Song is most probably the sweetest one from the album. Ankit Tiwari’s music and voice with Sandeep Nath’s simple yet lovely lyrics make the song absolutely beautiful. This one is my personal favorite.
” Chahun main yaa na ” the 3rd song of the album is a soft and romantic song sang by Arijit Singh and Palak Mucchal. The song is good. There are Nothing New but whatever is that sounds good. Overall its a decent track.
” Hum Mar jayenge ” sang by Tulsi Kumar and Arijit Singh is so dozy and a huge break for the album. Arijit Singh comes at the end of the song and gives a little relief though.
Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal come once again with next song called ” Meri Aashiqui “. The song is not bad but whats wrong with this is that the song comes after the sleepy ” Hum Mar jayenge ” so that the slow pace of the song makes audience immediately bored , though its a slow version of Tum Hi Ho with some changes in lyrics.
” Piya Aaye Na ” sang by K.K and Tulsi Kumar brings audience back to the album. K.K is as usual enjoyable. Tulsi Kumar’s sweet voice perfectly suits with the song. Another decent track this is and I would like to show thumbs up to that.
” Bhula Dena” sang by Mustafa Zahid is soulful. ” Aasan nahi yahan ” sang by once again Arijit Singh is enjoyable.
Then there are another version of ” Sunn Raha Hai ” with Singer Shreya Ghoshal. Like previous version This one is also delicious.
” Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi ” by Arijit Singh is nice. The album ends with a love theme called ” Aashiqui Theme ”
Aashiqui 2 is a good album. Its quantitative with 11 tracks. There are a couple of universal hit songs like ” Tum Hi Ho ” and ” Sunn Raha Hai ”. But the problem is the songs are not something extraordinary. All of the songs are melodious and belonging same genre so that the variety factor is missing. All 3 musicians Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly and Ankit Tiwari have done a good job. Irshad Kamil, Sanjay Masoom and Sandeep Nath’s lyrics were good. But Arijit Singh, the singer who sings maximum songs of the album was the biggest star among all. He won millions hearts by his superb voice.
Yes, The album is pretty much able to catch audience’s attention but in term of quality it might not be that much prosperous.
