Hello everyone!
First of all, may I thank everyone who showed up for the Secret shoot. It was a pretty cool day and I’m very proud of what we managed to make together!
So I’ve been asked by the band to make another video and I’m looking for some people to feature in it.
This is incredibly last minute and I apologise for that BUT I need people this MONDAY 21st DECEMBER!
Sorry!
It will be in a small greenscreen studio in Rathmines. I need a few people to turn up individually from 11am. Every shot will be a portrait style head shot and will only take about 10 minutes.
So hopefully in between Christmas shopping some of you can pop by, let me know by 7pm Sunday 20th December and I’ll send you out details!
Cheers!
x
Eoghan
Not a no-budget affair more of a minus-budget affair, the making of this video was spontaneous and dangerous, involving car crashes and snowstorms. Just the way I like it.

What has turned out from a suggestion to raise money to go to Herzog’s Film “School” has turned into an interesting experiment in public funding for indie film.
I asked friends and contacts to donate anything they felt like and so far I have raised €800 using Paypal. I can only describe this kind of support as magical, but thinking on it further it does make sense.
A small percentage of our tax money is given to artists through decisions made by bodies such as the Arts Council & Film Board. So if you support an individual artist, who maybe you feel has enriched your life in the smallest possible way, one could easily thank the artist by making a small donation. In a world of media file sharing this has been the suggestion by many experts over the years and I guess this fundraising project might be a sign of things to come.
So I continue my project by having a DVD Launch, fundraising event on Thursday. It should be fun, so please come along!
My extremely well valued DVD is being sold for €10. Perfect Christmas present for all fans of the moving image! Not available in shops.

I’ve been accepted into Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School.
No film craft is taught. There are a list of example subjects on the site, such as:
“8. Related, but more practical subjects, will be the art of lockpicking. Traveling on foot. The exhilaration of being shot at unsuccessfully. The athletic side of filmmaking. The creation of your own shooting permits. The neutralization of bureaucracy. Guerrilla tactics. Self reliance.
9. Censorship will be enforced. There will be no talk of shamans, of yoga classes, nutritional values, herbal teas, discovering your Boundaries, and Inner Growth.”
I will be taught by one of the world’s finest filmmakers. I’m incredibly excited, shocked, scared and overjoyed.
But there’s a snag. It costs $1400 for 4 days. It is a reasonable amount- most 3 day seminars cost that amount, but this is a 3 day seminar like no other and I have to raise the money to go.
Also it’s in L.A.
And I’m broke.
Super super duper broke.
So I’m organising some fund raising thingies. The first fundraising thingy is this donation button from my Paypal account.
I will accept any donation financial support, no matter how small!
I need to raise around 3000 2200 over the next 2 weeks. It’s a stupid amount of money but I’m going to give it a shot.
Please help me become the best filmmaker I can be.
More info on what the course entails can be found here.

So far I’ve raised about 700 euros through Paypal which is AMAZING! THANK YOU! That plus family donations makes me at around 1200! That’s over half way
Flight prices have gone down and I’ve been offered a place to stay in L.A. so looks like the whole cost of it has gone down to 2200.
I’ve got a lot of stick for having the gall to ask for money, so let me address this.
The term “donation” may be interpreted in the context of charity but far from it, I’m not asking for charity.
I work very hard to make art, which I put online for anyone to see for free. I don’t make anything from what I do so now I’m attempting to do so by asking people who like my stuff to contribute to my work.
So I’m merely asking for support from anyone who has gained any kind of enjoyment from my work and feels like supporting an indie artist who works for pittance.
Remember, society needs artists and artists need support! Both publicly and in this case, privately. Some would argue that the private way is the only way to go (i.e. the United States) other countries need more public funding due to the lack of private contributers (i.e. Ireland). Since the copywars may bring the whole content industry to its knees, artists may need to find new ways of seeking income. Support like this just may be one of them.
Remember, if you don’t like my work please please don’t have to give me anything.
